System Requirements
Udyot ERP (also known as eByapari) is a fully cloud-based accounting and business management system for Nepal — there is nothing to download or install. Whether you run a sole proprietorship in Pokhara, a private limited company in Kathmandu, or a trading firm with multiple godowns, you can access the entire system — accounting, VAT returns, payroll, inventory, CRM, and more — from any device with a modern browser and an internet connection.
System requirements for Udyot ERP in Nepal
Because Udyot ERP runs entirely in the cloud, your hardware requirements are minimal. Any reasonably modern computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone is sufficient. The table below summarises what is needed at a glance.
| Requirement | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Device | Any PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone | Desktop or laptop for heavy data entry |
| Browser | Any modern browser (see list below) | Google Chrome (latest version) |
| Internet connection | Stable broadband or mobile data | 2 Mbps or faster |
| Software to install | None — Udyot ERP runs entirely in your browser | |
| Operating system | Any — Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS | |
Supported web browsers
Udyot ERP works with all major modern browsers. We test on every major release, so keeping your browser up to date gives you the best experience and the latest security protections.
- Google Chrome — version 90 or later (recommended for the best performance)
- Microsoft Edge — version 90 or later
- Mozilla Firefox — version 88 or later
- Safari — version 14 or later (macOS and iOS)
Internet Explorer is not supported. Switch to Microsoft Edge — it is free, built into Windows, and works excellently with Udyot ERP.
Internet connection
A stable internet connection is the only real prerequisite. Udyot ERP is designed to work well on typical Nepali business internet connections. Most ISPs in Nepal — NTC, Vianet, Subisu, WorldLink, and others — provide more than enough bandwidth.
- For everyday use (voucher entry, reports, payroll): a 2 Mbps or faster connection is comfortable.
- For initial data import (importing a large Tally file or uploading data): a faster connection of 5 Mbps or above speeds things up, though it is not required.
- On slower connections: Udyot ERP will still work; page load times may be a few seconds longer.
If your office internet is unreliable, a 4G/LTE mobile hotspot from NTC or Ncell works well as a backup. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, so your business information is secure even on a mobile connection.
Mobile and tablet access
Udyot ERP is fully responsive — the layout adapts automatically to your screen size. You do not need a separate mobile app. Use the same web address on your phone or tablet to:
- Check today’s sales figures or outstanding receivables on the go
- Approve vouchers while away from the office
- View stock balances across godowns
- Review VAT or payroll reports before a deadline
For the smoothest mobile experience, use Chrome for Android or Safari for iOS. Heavy data entry — such as creating multiple journal vouchers in one session — is generally more comfortable on a desktop or laptop with a full keyboard.
Login and account security
Access to Udyot ERP is protected by a secure login. Each user has their own email address and password. Your account administrator can control exactly what each team member can see and do — for example, giving a junior accounts officer access only to voucher entry, without allowing them to view salary details or change company settings.
See Adding Team Members and Setting Permissions for a step-by-step guide on setting up your team.
Data security and backups
Your business data is stored securely in the cloud. Udyot ERP uses AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, so your data is protected whether it is sitting on the server or travelling between the server and your browser. Your data is never shared or sold to third parties.
Backups are taken automatically, so you do not need to worry about losing your accounts if your computer is stolen or damaged. You can also export your data at any time — see Data Backup and Export for instructions.
Who can use Udyot ERP in Nepal?
Udyot ERP is designed for Nepali businesses of all sizes and legal types:
| Business type | Supported? |
|---|---|
| Sole Proprietorship | Yes — fully supported out of the box |
| Partnership Firm | Yes — fully supported out of the box |
| Private Limited Company (Pvt. Ltd.) | Yes — including NFRS-compliant equity presentation |
| Public Limited Company | Yes — including statutory reserves |
| NGO / Non-profit | Yes |
| Multi-company group | Yes — manage multiple companies under one login |
The system is pre-configured for Nepal: it uses the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar for fiscal year tracking, handles 13% VAT and IRD Annex filing, manages TDS under the Income Tax Act 2058, and supports NPR (Nepali Rupee) as the base currency. If you are migrating from Tally, see Migrating from Tally for a guided import process.
No offline mode (yet)
Udyot ERP currently requires an active internet connection. If you operate in an area with unreliable connectivity, a mobile data connection from NTC or Ncell is a practical backup. Offline voucher entry is on our product roadmap and will be announced when available.
Choosing a plan
Udyot ERP is offered as a monthly or annual subscription. All plans cover the core accounting, inventory, VAT, and HR features. Higher plans add more users, more companies, and priority support. See Choosing a Plan for a full comparison, and Making a Payment and Activation to activate your account after selecting a plan.
Nepal-specific note
Udyot ERP uses the Bikram Sambat (BS) calendar throughout — fiscal year start is 1 Shrawan, and all voucher dates, VAT periods, and payroll periods are entered in BS. You do not need to convert dates to the English (AD) calendar. See Nepal Fiscal Year and BS Calendar for more details.
