Inventory Module

Inventory Management Software in Nepal — Real-Time Stock Across Every Godown

Know exactly what you have, where it sits and what it cost. Udyot tracks every movement from purchase to sale, values stock the NFRS way, and posts the accounting entries automatically.

Stock accuracy you can actually audit

Most businesses in Nepal still reconcile stock in Excel at month end — and discover the shortage only after the profit has gone. Udyot makes the stock ledger the single source of truth: every purchase, sale, delivery note, receipt note, stock journal, physical count and rejection writes one entry with a running balance.

Because the same movement posts to the general ledger, your Stock-in-Hand and cost of goods sold always match the warehouse. Negative stock is detected and blocked before it becomes a phantom-inventory problem, and every adjustment carries a reason and an audit trail.

Inventory is the backbone of POS, Manufacturing and Pharmacy — switch them on when you need them.

Capabilities

Every movement, valued and accounted for

Built for shops, distributors and factories that cannot afford a stock surprise.

Multi-godown stock control

Primary stores, branches, vendor sub-contract godowns and in-transit stock — with transfers that keep quantities and values aligned.

Batch and expiry discipline

Lot numbers, manufacturing and expiry dates, FEFO picking, expiry alerts and a block on selling expired stock.

Correct stock valuation

Weighted average or FIFO per company, landed cost on purchase lines, and NRV write-down journals when market value falls.

Perpetual GL integration

Stock-in-Hand, COGS and adjustment entries post with each movement, so inventory and accounts never drift apart.

Live stock reporting

Stock summary, stock ledger, godown stock, ageing, movement and low-stock alerts — filterable by date, item and location.

Physical counts that reconcile

Enter a physical stock count, see the variance, and post an adjustment with a reason — every difference is traceable.

How it works

From goods received to stock reported

Create items and locations
Add units, HS codes, rates and reorder levels, then set up your godowns — the primary location is created for you.
Receive and move stock
Record purchases and receipt notes, transfer between godowns, and issue stock to production or job work.
Sell and adjust
Sales, delivery notes, returns and physical counts write to the stock ledger; negative stock is blocked at the source.
Value and report
Review valuation, ageing and movement, post NRV write-downs where needed, and export the stock statements your auditor asks for.

Nepali stock, Nepali rules

Udyot's inventory follows NAS 2 for cost formulas and net realisable value, keeps every movement in Bikram Sambat, and works with the IRD purchase and sales books your VAT returns are built from. Opening stock seeds on the first day of the BS fiscal year and the active-FY pill drives every report.

Pair it with Accounting for GL-integrated COGS, or Supply Chain for RFQs, vendor performance and reorder rules. The IRD verification page covers the e-billing side.

FAQs

Inventory management in Nepal — common questions

Yes. Every item can sit in a primary location, secondary stores, vendor sub-contract godowns or in-transit godowns. Stock summaries, transfers and reorder rules are all godown-aware, so you always know what is on hand and where.
Yes. Batch and lot tracking is built into the stock ledger, with FEFO picking, expiry alerts and a hard block on selling or dispensing an expired lot. Batch genealogy traces a sold unit back to the receipt note that created it.
With "Integrate Accounts with Inventory" switched on, every stock movement posts the matching Stock-in-Hand, COGS and adjustment entries. Your trial balance and stock valuation stay in step without a month-end reconciliation.
Weighted Average is the default, with FIFO available per company. Both are disclosed consistently in reports, and landed costs such as freight, customs and handling can be capitalised onto purchase lines.
Yes. Opening stock is seeded per item, per godown, at the start of a fiscal year, and item masters can be imported in bulk. Our onboarding team helps map your units, HS codes and rates before go-live.
Set a reorder level on the item master, or a richer rule in Supply Chain with a preferred vendor, lead time and reorder quantity. Low-stock alerts and the reorder analysis report tell you what to buy before you run out.
