Stock Transfers Between Locations

Stock transfers move inventory from one of your warehouses (godowns) to another — for example, from your central store in Kathmandu to a branch in Pokhara. Udyot records the movement on both sides so each location’s stock figure stays accurate, with no effect on your overall stock value.

Before you begin

You need at least two godowns and stock at the source. Open SCM → Stock Transfers.

Transferring stock — step by step

  1. Create the transfer: Choose the source and destination godowns and add the items and quantities.
  2. Review: The transfer starts as a draft you can edit or cancel.
  3. Complete: Completing the transfer moves the stock — it leaves the source godown and arrives at the destination, at the same weighted-average cost.

Built-in safety

Udyot checks that the source godown actually holds enough of each item before completing a transfer, so you can never move stock you do not have. A draft transfer can be cancelled any time before it is completed.

Tips & common questions

Does a transfer change my total stock value? No. Stock only moves between locations at the same cost — your company-wide inventory value is unchanged.

Where do I see stock by location? The Godown-Wise Stock report shows quantities per warehouse — see Inventory Reports.
